Hathras gangrape case: Security beefed up after ruckus, protests outside Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi
Delhi: Security has been heightened outside Safdarjung Hospital, where Congress and Bhim Army workers are holding a protest demanding justice for Hathras gang-rape victim. Heated arguments broke out between the protestors and security personnel outside the hospital.
Congress and Bhim Army workers held a protest outside Safdarjung Hospital, where a 19-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh's Hathras died days after being gang-raped, demanding justice for the victim. The woman was gang-raped in Hathras on September 14.
The accused had made attempts to strangle her to death. She had reportedly bitten her tongue in an attempt to resist the accused. Four persons have been arrested in the matter.
The girl was admitted to Aligarh Muslim University's Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital and shifted to Safdarjung Hospital here on Monday.
