Road near Vartalok Apartments in Vasundhara caves in leaving residents in peril

A connecting road near Vartalok Apartments in Sector 4 of Vasundhara area of Ghaziabad caved in today following heavy rains since morning leaving the residents in peril. Notably, the residents of this society had apprehension about this scenario a few days back as according to them an adjacent site near their society had been dug deep by a builder since the last 4-5 years but no construction had taken place. Every year during the rainy season water filled up in the excavated site and led to erosion of the road and finally today (July 26) th road caved in fully.

Despite reminding the authorities time and again, about the dangers of this ‘excavated site’ right near our society no action was take,” said Sanjib Sahu, President of Vartalok RWA.

However, as soon as the road caved in everyone including the local councilor, officials of Nagar Nigam, administration and the police have started reaching the site of the damaged road. A team of NDRF also reached the spot.

Traffic has been affected from Sarai Kale Khan towards Nizamuddin railway station and Badarpur towards Ashram due to water logging.
Traffic is also affected at Loni, Iron Bridge, Tikona Park, Welcome Cut and Hanuman mandir near Lal Quila.
Traffic movement is closed on Raisina Marg due to this Rafi Marg, Sansad Marg, Ashoka Road & Rajender Prasad Road will remain heavy.
